This is the ‘golden’ decade for turbocharging your health
Although improving diet and exercise is beneficial at any age, experts say there is an optimal period to build lean muscle, drive up cardiovascular health and boost metabolism.

Zippy metabolism and youthful energy can help people in their 20s get away with a relaxed approach to lifestyle, but once you hit 30, good exercise and nutrition really start to count.
“Beginning in our 30s and 40s, men tend to lose about 5 per cent of their muscle mass per decade and women about 4 per cent per decade,” says Mandy Hagstrom, an exercise scientist from the School of Medical Sciences at the University of NSW.
